Vendor Guidelines for Bakersfield Home Education Conference

The Bakersfield Home Education Conference seeks to glorify God by encouraging parents to disciple their children through home education. We recognize that there are a variety of homeschooling options* that, although very different in approach, can still achieve the end we seek. At the conference, there will be a variety of attendees who embrace differing educational models. We have designed the conference to encourage and support all such parents. Ultimately, our hope is that all are willing and able to fully embrace home education.

To this end, local homeschooling groups (“organizational vendors”) are welcome to set up tables at the conference to present their educational materials. We require all vendors to comply with the following guidelines, with the aim of offering attendees and vendors alike an open, hospitable and respectful environment.

Vendor Guidelines
  • Vendors must return the signed vendor application by mail no later than June 15th.
  • Vendor representatives must pre-register by June 15th. Representatives are encouraged to attend conference sessions.
  • Promotional and educational materials may be distributed. No product sales, per facility policy.
  • No negative messages (verbal or written) about other homeschooling options.*
  • Vendor is responsible for the safekeeping of its products and materials.

The prohibition against negative messages is to protect against discouraging any attendee from homeschooling because they do not educate their children using a certain model at this time. We recognize that all homeschooling families are on a journey. Although educational options may vary widely, the conference will direct all attendees to pursue the same goal.

Violation of these guidelines during the conference, particularly regarding negative messages, could result in the immediate suspension of a vendor’s table and activities. The conference directors reserve the right to deny approval of a vendor application.

If you are interested in becoming a vendor for the 2012 conference, please request the vendor application us via the contact form.

* Homeschooling options include ISPs, HSPs, charter schools, co-ops, private tutors, etc.
